About
Artem is a Russian immigrant who has lived in the Greater Seattle area for over three decades. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Information Systems from the University of Washington. He also attended law school at New England Law | Boston as a Justice Sandra Day O’Connor Scholar.
Artem has a background in technology and business, having worked as a senior engineering team lead at Mindtree and as an analyst for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He is the founder of DogeDealz and a governor for metaCAMPUS.
He is also a poet and author, having released a book titled “Mania” in 2021, a collection of poems inspired by his personal struggles with addiction, mental health, and experiences within the justice system.
His personal history includes periods of incarceration which led to his detention without arraignment for nearly eight weeks in solitary confinement at the King County Correctional Facility. During this time, he experienced a manic episode. He later sued King County as a pro se party, alleging violations of his due process rights and equal treatment under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
He describes his journey of recovery and accountability as a key part of his motivation for running for public office.
Today, Artem lives and works in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston.
